Dear Friends,
I am sure that as individuals and church communities we have already begun to make our responses to the devastation in Haiti. I would like to warmly recommend the thought of a day of prayer on Sunday 31st January, and the possibility of making a contribution to Marcus Trochon's appeal, in addition to other appeals.
Yours in love,
Bill Anderson

Dear All,
Please find a forwarded letter from Rev. Marcus Torchon, a minister from Haiti. He was my minister in Tobago (his first appointment) and is on the World Church British Programme (WCBP) serving in the Wirral Circuit.
I would appreciate any help in response to Marcus' letter from the District (Rev. Bill Anderson) and the Circuit churches.
Thanks!
Shalom,
Shirlyn
Dear Friends,
Thanks for having been there for us through various life-changing scenes.
I write in relation to the ‘Earthquake’ tragedy in Haiti.
Various media houses have been interviewing me, getting my assessment of the tragedy in Haiti. My personal family stories have been of great interest to them as well. The media, together with a number of Methodists, organisations and friends, have quickened my thoughts towards doing something tangible for Haiti. In this light, I propose the following:
- A day of prayer for Haiti – Sunday January 31st
- Donations of items* to be received by the Methodist church in Haiti for distribution to all
(details about collection and shipment to come),
- Monetary donations to be channelled through the Methodist Church Wirral Circuit
(more details to come).
I take this opportunity to express to you all my heartfelt thanks for your prayers and generosity towards my Haitian people in this tragedy.
I find comfort in Micah 7:8b ‘Though I fall I will rise; though I dwell in darkness, the LORD is a light for me’.
Shalom,
Marcus - Minister
