Network
           

During 2007 Methodist Women's Network held 20th birthday celebrations and in the Birmingham District many Circuits did their own arrangements, and the District held their own special day at St John's Methodist Church, Hereford, in June, plus Commissioning of Mrs Ann Craddock as Birmingham District Network President for two years. Thanks were expressed to Mrs Margaret Taylor for her term of office. The church was packed for this occasion and the theme of the Worship was "Sing a New Song", speaker Mrs Stella Bristow.
The District Network September meeting at Erdington included a presentation by Joyce Powell and Elizabeth Proctor on the Social Action Project on Trafficking of Women and Girls in Europe.
         

The District was represented at the Regional Network Day in Taunton where the main focus was on Trafficking. Also represented at the 20th birthday celebrations at Cleveleys Park Methodist Church, Blackpool, and at the Residential event at Swanwick.
           

The Birmingham District Network Project for the Four Homes of Mercy at Bethany has raised £6,796 since September 2006. Thank you to all who have raised money for this Project, which is ongoing.
The District Spring Network meeting, February 2008 at Erdington planned events for 2008-09, and Revd Frances Biseker was the speaker. District Network Quiet Day held on 15 March 2008 at the Diaconal Centre, Edgbaston, leader, Revd Ros Murphy.
            

The District will be hosting the Regional Network Day at Erdington Methodist Church on 30 April 2008 where, hopefully, we will hear from the Connexional Team the future structure of Methodist Women's Network - at the time of writing this report we still do not know what this will be.
