Probationers

The care of probationers in the District is undertaken by the District Oversight Team working alongside superintendents and circuits in offering attention to the needs of each probationer. This model has helped to use various talents and resources, while not overloading any one person. The oversight team and the District Committee continue to use the connexional standards for competencies in ministry and learning outcomes at various stages of training, and in their annual assessment, to help the probationers look carefully at their own development in formation, while at the same time making for a more objective way of assessing fitness for ministry. The team is grateful for the support of Committee members and the ready co-operation of superintendents and mentors in this work, as well as for the financial support of the District in underwriting training events and individual studies.
